Norwegian check in Gatwick

Anyone checked in at Gatwick recently for Norwegian Airlines? Flying tomorrow to Tampa and, after talking to a member of staff on the online chat, I was told that check in doesn't open until 3 hours before departure. He said that there is a dedicated US desk at the airport and no online check in was available.

Does anyone know if there are kiosks so you can check in and choose your seats before the 3 hour window (you now have to pay to choose seats with Norwegian)? If so, do they open earlier? How does it work?

Any info would be appreciated.

It’s literally what you’ve been told, a check-in desk dedicated for USA flights. Well there’s more than one!

When we flew with them we arrived 3hrs before and it was open already and plenty were been dealt with. If I flew with them again I’d arrive 3.5hrs ahead of flight time.

We had paid for our seats when booking as part of a package that included food and baggage.

Seats now don’t come included in the package - it’s only baggage and meals.

We arrived at airport almost 4 hours before flight time and, as you said above, desk was open and people had already checked in. Went straight through in minutes!

Arrive very early - I've flown twice from Gatwick and it was chaos both times. Took over an hour to get to the front of the queue and the queues for the machines were very long too
