Its crazy, what's going on with the US education system? I'm a teacher and I can't imagine a situation where you'd need police assistance to deal with primary children!

I used to work as a dinner lady - about 10 years ago - and was involved in an "incident" where a 5 or 6 year old (Year1) child pulled a 4 inch flick knife out at lunchtime and told a fellow dinner lady he was going to "cut her up real bad". This was a good school in a "nice" area.

The police were called (personal threats with a weapon require it, no matter the age), the child was (permanently) removed from the school. So it is not just in the US education system... I was shocked and disgusted that such a thing could happen in my gentle little workplace.
