As a rule, do you upgrade anything/everything?
Reading the Dibb fascinates me, all the different plans people make for the Florida holiday that suits their family. I've really noticed lately that there seems to be an upgrade for EVERYTHING.
Before you Fly Valet airport parking, lounge access, quick queue for security Flying Business, First class, Prem. Economy, upgraded meal, extra legroom seat etc Hotel Onsite, Early entry hotels, poolview, garden room, dining plan, upgraded dining plan Parks Early Entry Special ticketed events Cabanas Park Guide/Escort Quick Queue All Day Dining and the list goes on... We're an economy family . Wouldn't dawn on me upgrade elements of the holiday, probably because I want to go back again next year but even if I could upgrade and go every year, think I'd prefer to pay the extras on nicer meals out or more nights or some shopping. What about everybody else? Upgrade, keep it simple, or somewhere in the middle? |

For us it's business class on the way home which gives us lounge access and more luggage
We often have a 4/5 hour wait at Gatwick and the and the amount of stuff we bring home we need the allowance the rest may be as a special treat |

I'd rather keep it simple and spend the extra when I'm there on things I hadn't thought of or on a nice meal

I'm finding the older I get the more I will pay for a bit of comfort but I'm a bargain hunter so it would still have to be a good deal.
My Dad calls me champagne ideas on ginger beer money |

I'm the ultimate bargain hunter. I spend. All the time. But on stuff i think is worth it.
The thought of spending £300 extra pp for premium economy? No way. Probably not even if I was much better off. Millions better off... maybe, lol. |

We upgrade our flights. That's all.
I'm not a great flyer so I like the extra room and better food and more luggage. |

I fly premium economy for health reasons but other than that I keep it relatively simple. I stay on site in standard rooms at moderates and upgrade to the mid range dining plan.

We are somewhere in the middle but not too extravagant. Just the things that make out holiday seem worth it to us and little treats that make our holiday easier.
We usually get lounge access. We either park next to terminal or business parking, this year we are getting executive travel to and from airportas a treat for hubby as he will be doing a lot of driving on our holiday. We upgrade tickets to FOLP etc... As hubby hates queuing. Upgraded to PE on return just for extra luggage and a bit more space. Not sure I would want to pay anymore for outbound as it's just a means to get there, you still have to sit on the plane for X amount of hours. I'm sure I may have a different viewpoint if I'd actually traveled in CLub or First lol 😄 But for now I would rather spend it on the hotel, meals or shopping. I never go to a Villa or self catering as I class being in a lovely hotel part of my holiday and prefer to spend hubby's hard earned money on accomodation than flights.
