Universal Stay and Cruise

We would like to visit Universal for a few days and then have a cruise can anyone suggest anywhere or any trips you have taken ?
We are a family with teenagers and are quite flexible with budget and destinations but are new to cruising.
Thanks

We cruised for the first time last year. We went on harmony of the seas stopping at cococay, Costa maya, Roatan and Cozumel. We absolutely loved it although it was more because of the ship than the ports. Are you wanting to start your cruise in Florida? We were in Quebec before flying to Florida for our cruise, there are some interesting looking cruises that stop in Quebec City I absolutely loved it there. Although we really enjoyed Harmony of the seas and I would gladly go on it again I think I might actually prefer a smaller ship.

We did a week in Universal and week cruise with Royal Caribbean, we did our own trips on the islands as they worked out cheaper, there’s some good excursions though.
