Mobile Just the 4 of us - The epic European train adventure - Aug 2020

So I've started booking a few things and it seems like a good time to start a pre-trippie.

The Cast

This is us in Aug 2018, the kids have grown somewhat since then!
Jason and I (Kirsten) share the planning, but he is definitely the organiser, the one with the spreadsheets. Isla and Dylan will be 12 and 10 this trip. Isla is studying Spanish and requested a trip to Spain this year. I'd already been eyeing up the DLP free dining offer and decided to avoid flying this year. Isla hates car journeys and I'd seen interail advertised...

I found The Man in Seat 61. An amazing website if you're looking to take an international train journey. Interail didn't work out cost effective for our trip, but Paris to Barcelona on the TGV was definitely a reasonable choice. A plan was hatched..

The Plan
17th August Eurostar London to Paris stay at Sequoia for 2 nights with free dining plan.
19th night in Paris
20th travel to Barcelona
25th travel back to London.

So far I've booked DLP, accommodation in Barcelona and Eurostar. I tried the Paris to Barcelona train but website wasn't playing, so that's on the to do list this weekend.

I'll update in a bit more detail later..

I’ll be following with interest as I’ve thought about something similar for next year. Our two will also be 12 and 10 by then, and it seems like a great way to see a few different places 😊. Can’t wait to read your updates.
(Ps if you have any info on costs etc I’d be interested to read. I’m hoping it’ll be a cheaper holiday than Florida!)

Absolutely. Its going to be a bit cheaper than Florida. When you book all the bits separately it doesn't feel so bad..
