Borrow Points From 2020 Use Year to Use in 2021?

Hi

I have cancelled this years trip and am hopefully going to book for August 2021

So what i need help with is what happens in the following scenario?

If i want to use 100 points at 11 months out in September to book my home resort i need to use Dec 2020 use year points.
I do not have any Dec 2019 points left.

This means i would have to borrow them from Dec 2020 use year to make the reservation for August 2021 which in effect is within the use year for these points.

If say i then had to cancel before 31 Days where would these points end up and would i still be able to bank them if within the timescale?

Banking deadline would be end of July 2021 for December 2020 Use Year


If anyone can explain this to me and put me right i would be grateful

You won’t be borrowing as the point will be being used in the 2020 use year (1st Dec 2020 - 30th Nov 2021).

As long as you banked them by 31st July 2021 you’d be fine

The points need to be active when you travel. You can always book in advance as long as they points will be active by checkin day.


If you are travelling in August 2021 then Dec 2020 points will be current year points for that trip so no banking or borrowing needed.

You have no Dec 2019 points so no need to bank.

You could borrow from Dec 2021 points if you need more.
