Whale watching in Monterey

Another vote for Princess Monterey, well worth it - great crew.

We used Princess Monterey and they were fab

just to add - we stayed that the Monterey Plaza hotel & spa which is an excellent hotel - would definitely stay again and that is a short 10min walk to the Princess Monterey place.

Monterey Bay Watch for us too, they were fab. It was great being able to walk from our hotel so it was a car free day. We spent 2 nights in Monterey and could have easily stayed another 2
But it was freezing in August out at sea my oh wore a woolly hat! We are used to the cold too.

We had a great time with Sanctuary (Moss Landing, so a little North, we stayed in a cheap airbnb in Salinas) we would use them again, we bumped into a couple of marine biologist people in the car park who had great things to say about them. (However, they may have said that whoever we went with)
The boat was small compared to others we saw out there (12 people or so, compared to 2 decks full) and we seemed to get to the whales first before others appeared, they all radio each other. This meant we had conversation with the guide and he moved around the boat rather than just a speaker system.
