Full Size SUVs 7 or 8 seats?

Got a bit of a question on people's experience with full size SUVs over the past year?

We have booked a 7 seat Fullsize (Tahoe / Expedition or similar) for October (hopefully!), however I'm hoping for an 8 seat option. I know the base model of both Tahoe and Expedition come with 8 seats as standard. But there are options available on the manufacturer's website which reduce this down to 7 seat (with two larger seats on the middle row).

I have no need for the extra space in the next size up Suburban/Expedition XL, which was not available on the DFCH website (and a huge premium over the standard Full Size elsewhere)

Anyway, I am interested to see what people were getting in the back in of last year / pre lockdown 2020. Did your full size have 7, 8 or 9 seats?

I think we are probably save (given in our group we have booked 2 Full Size SUVs, and my expectation is that the odds of us getting two 7 seat options will be pretty slim). But I would like to try and reassure myself that I havent just made a mistake...

(As an aside, the reason for two cars with 8 people is the flexibility it gives in our week in a villa. Being all able to fit in one car will at least mean that we can all go to dinner together, while in the morning we are not waiting for everyone else to get ready. When your children wake up at 6am as standard, you want to be out of the room and on your way to the park as early as possible in the morning!)

The last 4 trips we've had an Expedition. Every one of them was a 8 seater.
