Tell me about May (Universal only, used to September)

We are looking at amending this years trip to next May. We are only used to September so any info would be appreciated- crowds, weather, events etc.

This would be Universal only (on site)

We were onsite at cabana bay for two weeks 26 April - 10 May 2018. We had a great time and the weather was fab. We went 26 September - 12 October 2019 and while the weather was also very good, it was probably slightly better on the April/May trip. Really warm and only one afternoon of rain.

We found the crowds comparable between the two trips mentioned above - easily manageable

Universal do Grad Bash events around May so check the dates and plan around them as Studios will close early to standard guests on those nights.

Overall we enjoyed both times of year, Sept/Oct maybe a little more because of HHN, but I wouldn’t hesitate to go back at either time.

We have been onsite at Universal in May. We were in an express pass hotel so avoided most queuing anyway. According to dibb wait time history, the crowd levels are similar.

I went to Disney in September for the first time last year, after numerous April / May trips and September was notably hotter and more humid. We had to change the structure of our days to deal with it, May is much easier.

I went last year in both May and September.
May the weather was terrible. It rained a lot and didn’t seem to warm up after it stopped. Got talking to some people who said they go every year in May and had never seen ent thing like that though so it might’ve just been a bit of bad luck weather wise. Otherwise crowds seemed pretty low, but may have been the weather(?).
Lots of love bugs too, more than I’ve seen at other times of the year.

We usually go September (have been June, July and November too) and I’d always choose September. I honestly do think that was a blip with the weather last May. It was so strange to not have it warm up again after a rainstorm though. Oh we still had pool time.

Actually just remembered that one day was due to be so bad we booked to go to a timeshare selling thing that day instead. The weather did turn out awful that entire day so we were glad we’d booked that as we got free money for shopping and they paid our taxi to the outlets. Kids got to play in their indoor play centre thing. So it worked out well as we’d have been sat in our room otherwise.

The timeshare selling experience was one I wouldn’t readily repeat mind you 😂😂

Haha hopefully it was just a blip!

Can't say I'd be able to convince my OH to go to a timeshare experience for all the vouchers in the world

Maybe it's worth us looking at the last two weeks in April instead (though as we don't have kids I have no idea about when school hols are - will have to look that up so we can avoid!).

Last September we found the weather to be amazing - only one afternoon of rain in the whole two weeks we were there, whereas in previous years we'd had heavy downpours every afternoon! I suppose there's no telling... Florida weather is a strange thing!
