Mobile Portugal any recommendations on villas or areas?

So found some cheap flights for Portugal for easter next year.

So considering booking even though I know everything is a little up in the air.

Can anyone recommend any villas or areas to stay?

Never been before so many advice much appreciated.

We stayed in lovely apartment in Carvoeiro last year in Monte Dourado apartments highly recommend, was quite hilly but everything within walking distance, lovely walks, scenery and lots of restaurants, beach, caves etc. We hired a car and lots of sight seeing.

Vale De Lobo in the Algarve is just stunning (we were due to go last month but sadly didn't make it due to the current situation). Lots of lovely bars and restaurants, beautiful beaches and great golf (which totally sells it to my OH!)

we loved Carvoeiro too have been a few times , we stayed just outside of at Rocha Brava complex but it does free shuttles to Carvoeiro at certain times or taxis were around 8 euros I think . There are restaurants and a small beach within walking distance.

We’ve been every year for about 15 years staying in either Praia da Luz, Lagos & Alvor. Our favourite place to stay is Estrela da Luz in Luz which are lovely apartments with 3 pools (1 indoor) a spa & gym. Luz has a lovely beach with nice restaurants & bars, we always go in October or Spring which is a quiet time, but that suits us.
Cheers
Les

We went the other way last year, east of Faro to Tavira and Cabanas. Low rise and low key. Have to travel for things like water parks etc so depends on the age of your party and whether you want full on fun, family focussed, or possibly more sedate adult / restaurant type evenings out.

Dont get me wrong, I went with kids and they loved it, but it's not full on entertainment party central.

We hired an large three bed penthouse apartment for around £2.3k for two weeks high summer. The villas we were looking at were comparatively more expensive (at least double the price).

Also Easter action may be different to summer. I would try and book somewhere that was open for business all year. So Tavira yes, Cabanas not so much.

Edited at 07:15 PM. Reason: Checked price !

Thanks everyone will take a look. We will be going as a family dont mind travelling to water parks just need to make sure there is a nice beach that the kids can play and surf in and we would be happy.

If surfing is your game then not sure I would recommend Tavira or cabanas necessarily. Beach is huge and reasonable waves but you have to get there by going in a small wherry. Not so easy with surf boards perhaps.
There are some excellent surfing beaches with big waves but I think they are mainly on the Atlantic coast. If that's your requirement may want to check out a surf website for recommendations.

Enjoy.

Above good suggestions.

It’s a newer area but we also really like Villamoura. Go nearly every year.
