It does depend on your hair type, but no reason why you can’t have long hair with the right cut and colour.

I think it depends on your face, from being little long hair has always looked awful on me,but a very short spiky cut always suits me better, some of us are not made for long hair others can keep it for ever like jayne seymour

I am definitely well over 47 and although mine is not long enough that I can sit on it anymore it is still nearly waist level when I straighten out all the curls. Have no intention of having short hair yet and do not care what anyone else thinks.

I personally think short hair is ageing. Long hair of cut and coloured well and kept in good condition with a decent shampoo/conditioner and some products is much more youthful.

I’m 46 and my hair is about 4 inches below my shoulders. I’m blonde but have started to use different coloured shampoos. Been pink, copper and tonight I have gone purple, great way to have a bit of a change without commitment!

5 or 6 years ago i had it short but o/h didnt really like it.

It's always been a "thing"-get rid of the long hair when you get older, so yes or no?
Hiya Ras, I'm 63 years young, currently have very long hair due to hairdresser friend, Eileen, safely shielding.

Do what pleases you hin, Eileen gives me a 'off the shoulder' bob afore Nov departure and upon May return, I take care of my own fringe inbetween my two cuts a year. Currently it's halfway down my back, and whilst I'm a brunette it does have a silver tinge (howay man Chris, grey, it's flippin' grey!) that Eileen advises people pay for, really? It's convenient for me to keep it long whilst wintering in Fl, I throw it into a pony-tail and shove it under a Liz Claiborne sun hat I found new/unworn in a charity shop in 2010 for $1 (ohh, does this make me a designer name dropping tart per other Dibbers? ), still holds my hair in place whilst in the pool. I'm not struck by local hairdressers in Fl, hence why I've been cutting hubs hair for years.

PS, Ras, how's that gorgeous boy Ted doing?
