Insurance for change of hotel?
I’ve seen a few people say they’re switching from Disney to another hotel if they can still fly out this summer.
I’m tempted to do the same - the thing I don’t want is to have to pay out for flights and get no holiday. My biggest hope is that flights are cancelled and we get our money back, but if flights go ahead, I’d rather stay somewhere cheaper than Disney. I just can’t figure out how it would work for insurance (our insurance still says to only call them if your trip is within 28 days, but as far as I can see, a change of hotel definitely wouldn’t be covered anyway, so I’m 99% certain they’d just say we weren’t covered for a new hotel booking.) Assuming I’m right, and we wouldn’t be medically covered outside of our current booking at Universal, how would we go about getting medical insurance only? The new hotel would have free cancellation, and the rest of our trip would be covered by our existing insurance if it did get cancelled, so it would just be the medical coverage we need. Is it possible to get just medical insurance from a different provider, in addition to an annual policy or would that invalidate both policies? I feel like it’s probably not possible, but I know others are doing this, so they must be insured somehow.

You're flights are taking you to the same destination so k believe you would be covered medically. The only way the hotel would be an issue if it was cancelled.
When you get medical treatment they will want details of your location but will not have details of your previous location or where you are booked. Actually when DS had chicken pox the only time our accommodation was mentioned at all was when we were in the position that we may not be able to fly but still they didn't ask for any information other than had we contacted to see if an extension was possible. We could have been anywhere in Florida.
