My workplace has been flooded.

Got a call from my manager earlier to tell me that the warehouse where I work has been flooded and won’t be open tonight. It’s next to the river Irwell and it has burst its banks. He said he will call again tomorrow to give an update.
I don’t live too far away, so I had a drive up to have a look. The managers were outside on the approach road and I spoke to one of them who told me it was a mess inside (foodstuff).
I don’t think it will be a quick fix, I’m just hoping it can be repaired. I’ve no idea how we stand re pay as we are hourly paid.

Can't help re pay I'm afraid , is it in the Radcliffe / Warth area ?
My missus works at the Derby school and looking at the pictures online think there could be some flooding there ?
Did you happen to go past The Derby ?

We've not been out of the house today other than to pick up the wheelie bins and move them somewhere safer

It’s near Newbank garden centre if you know where that is. Sorry, I don’t know The Derby.

Thought so, the Derby is about 200 yards along from the Newbank 😀 on the same road heading towards Bury

I drove all along that road and it seemed fine, there was a fire engine parked in that area with it blues going.

I am no expert, but it is possible that your employer has insurance to cover loss of earnings by not being able to trade.

That being the case, he might still pay you?

Worth checking

So sorry about this. When my local supermarket flooded in 2015 they sent staff to stores near by, they eventually got a little stop and go shop going but it took nearly a year to get the main store sorted out
