Brian Sewell: I just loved the man, he was so interesting and his appreciation for art was always mesmerising for me. I loved his throttled vowels, I often wondered if his voice box collapsed from exhaustion at the end of the day.
Sewell himself likened his voice to that of an “Edwardian lesbian". I'm happy to take his word for it. Doris Day: She would have to sing for her supper. A fabulous all round entertainer, they don't make 'em like that anymore. She worked with everyone and would have fascinating tales and insights to tell. Brian Wilson: A musical magician, to have him tickle the ivories in his own inimitable style and tease out the glorious melodies he creates is my idea of bliss. I wouldn't close the door to Kander & Ebb or Donna McKechnie, either. |

Marilyn Monroe - To find out and put to rest what really happened - and I bet she was a hoot
Elvis Presley - Because he was the King (and as above, having been to Graceland I am still not convinced) - and he could provide the music Al Pacino - after dinner entertainment |
