Itching and eczema help
So my poor husband has for years suffered all over his body with allergic eczema. After numerous allergy tests he has cut dairy from diet which helps a lot and we dont have pets and there are certain foods like fruits and nuts he wont eat. But the flare ups are still pretty bad. He has so many creams and moisturisers (his skin is so dry and he will take and use moisturiser even if we just go out for a meal for 2 hours) it wakes him at night and also means on holiday he struggles with sun cream and swimming.
I feel incredibly selfish for saying it as Im not living the issue but it does affect me also. I have broken sleep as he is always up and as a worrier I am often on edge if he is having a bad flare up. I made him get some blood tests a few months back for more serious underlying health issues which could cause it but nothing showed luckily. I wonder if we should explore more herbal remedies or even hypnotherapy for his constant itching. He admits its now a habit even if its not needed. Please... any advice? Picture below of it this morning. |

I have had issues regarding skin breaking up, very painful and tried lots of different things. The thing that finally worked for me was a cream called skin sure plus We are all different though so your dh May or may not want to try it, but Im glad I did. Hope he finds something to help.

I'm a fellow sufferer. Does he use steroids? If he does then cut them out. I've found that overuse makes it worse.
Using epson salts in a warm bath can help with itchiness and healing. Finally moisturise, moisturise and moisturise.

Your poor husband and you, I had it like this for years and saw more consultants than I can remember. Tried everything. I finally stood up to someone in my family who were so controlling and broke free of them, 2 months later, my skin was 90% better. I put it down to stress.
I find that likes of E45 made it worst. Vaseline was the best thing for it |

If the eczema is extensive as the picture on the back suggests and is impacting on daily life and is not controlled then he should if not already done so be referred to a dermatologist. He may benefit from other therapies only available within a dermatology department.

Some people report improvements after taking seaweed supplements. No one is quite sure why, its mentioned in Mosley's Clever Guts Diet. I have some eczema, which for me is stress related, I've tried it and I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but doesn't do harm.. can get on Amazon, its basically chopped, dried seaweed in a capsule.

SBC propolis gel is very good. Propolis is what the bees use to keep the hive clean and has antibacterial properties. We use it for any skin irritation and it takes the itch out and calms it down.
