Found the three episodes to be interesting. Oddly I had no interest in her at the time, didn't watch any of the "real life " stuff and don't but the magazines.

I did remember Big Brother though the first time and they made her a figure of hate for a few weeks. Graham Norton with his pig impressions etc. Then they clicked they couldn't let her go out of the house having created a person the public appeared to hate. So they changed the goal posts and stopped having public votes on all the housemates for a round 3 weeks. They engineered votes where only a few of the housemates were up for the public vote. They have done it lots since but this was the first time. During those three weeks or so they changed the way the Jade Goody was seen. She became someone sympathetic and funny rather than the "stupid and nasty" person they had portrayed up till that point.

I found last nights episode to be moving but also disturbing. Someones last months were being handled by the media in the same way they would deal with a birth or marriage. There was no privacy in particular for the children. I understand from the programme it was partly her wish but at then end of the day she didn't have much say really. Manipulated by disgusting people like Max Clifford.

I agree with points you made regarding how she was treated by the media when in BB. However I think Jade was a tough cookie and was a manipulator of the media right up to the end.

I watched the last one last night and I am still thinking it over. I get as a mother she wanted to leave her boys as much money as she could. And I honestly take my hat off to her for raising awareness. I don't know if she maybe went to far with the pics she sold towards the end.

It's made me really pity her as, she knew she couldn't be ill in private and deal with things she had to work right up to the end.

I think Jade wanted the attention, and Max Clifford was happy to oblige, they kind of fed off each other. She had such a difficult life before big brother that her happiest times where when she had a camera with her, I don't think she really knew any other way.

I did find it uncomfortable watching though, especially when you could hear the camera instructions about getting certain shots while she was having chemo. As stupid as it sounds, it never really occurred to me that there was someone directing her while she was dealing with that.

I was also shocked at the BB house in India, I had assumed she was taken in to the diary room, and met by psychologist and taken straight out of the house. The idea that she was alone on the phone and then sent back into the house is just horrific.

I 100% agree with all you have said Bev. However I do think Jade would have been asked and gave the green light for all that was filmed and put out on the India BB.

I do hope I am wrong on that though.

That's true, her mind must have been all over the place.

The press were going to get pictures of her anyway, at least she made money for her family. Not that I approve of seeing sad pictures of a dying young woman. She raised so much awareness too. That will be her legacy.

Your 100% right. She was savvy enough to see that I think. The Jade effect has been incredible to see and she has saved so many lifes.
