I happened to be in town on Black Friday and spent £146 in the Debenhams sale. I bought a pair of Carvela leather boots for myself -reduced from £200 to £87 - and a handbag and purse for DD for Christmas.

Although I am pleased with my purchases and the price that I paid for them, I can't help feeling that the whole Black Friday discount thing is a bit of a con! All 3 of the items I purchased were in the sale and the assistant then took a further 20% off at the till because of Debenhams Black Friday event. Checking on the Kurt Geiger website this morning, they are all available on there for the exact same price that I paid. Debenhams had just added the 20% on in order to take it off again so that it looked like an extra special deal!
