More availability after free dining offer ends?
Does anyone remember if historically more rooms are released after the free dining offer ends? And if so, could we switch our current booking to another hotel and still retain the free dining offer or can Disney tell that a certain room type wasn’t available during the offer period? Desperate for OKW or any other 1 bed villa.

Disney know what was available and you can only change to availability that is left from original allocation.
We have had to move this years holiday from August to October due to illness and it was a real struggle to get what we wanted as there was such limited choice left that we could switch to |

More rooms will become available, as they are only sold out on the 'free' dining offer.
Unfortunately you wont be able to move to a new hotel and keep the 'free' dining plan if it was sold out on that offer. You will have to pay the difference. Saying that, of course someone else may change/cancel and the hotel you want maybe available on the offer. Also people have found that sometimes a new offer actually works out similar price with dining plan added, so they arent really worst off, but that is rare.

We tried this a few years ago through Virgin. We had free dining booked then tried to move hotel accommodation after the free dining ended. they told us we would loose the free dining and would have to pay full price for it and the additional cost of the hotel move, so we stayed put. Unsure if this would be the same if you booked direct with Disney, it’s worth calling them to find out.

I suspected that would be the case but thought I’d check anyway 🙂

We changed ours after free dining ended last year, and were told that you could keep the offer it was booked under as long as there was availability. We changed from cbr to ssr.
Does this mean they have changed policy this year? I think I will give them a ring, as I am hoping to change to okw if and when rooms come available for next year.

What may happen is resorts become available as someone else cancels or changes resort but no, you wouldn’t keep free dining if your chosen resort didn’t have availability during the offer.
