How does this look?

How does my intinerary look so far?

Land Ōsaka 27th pm
28th Ōsaka
29th Ōsaka - Universal Studios
30th travel to Kyoto
31st Kyoto
1st Kyoto
2nd travel to Hiroshima / Miyajima
3rd Hiroshima /Miyajima
4th travel to Tokyo
5th Tokyo - Mt Fuji
6th Tokyo -
7th Tokyo - Disneyland
8th Tokyo
9th Tokyo - return home late evening

We celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary on the 8th and would appreciate suggestions for that day!
We had thought of going to Mt Fuji but if I’ve got it right we would be better going on the 5th to be covered by the JR pass .. is that right?

Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank you!,

Is that september? If so, 29th is a Sunday. USJ is generally regarded as woefully underspecced for crowds and often packed midweek. A sunday would be busy.

Kyoto is day trippable from Osaka - it is a short train journey away if you wanted to stay in one location (we are doing the opposite, staying in Kyoto and commuting to Osaka).

Hi, it’s August 29th ..
I did wonder if we would be best staying in Kyoto and travel to Osaka ..
We were planning 1 day at Universal and a 2nd day seeing the sights in Osaka .. we can split those days up during our stay in Kyoto .. thanks for the info, I will do that ..
Do you think we would be ok with the 7 day Jr pass?

'tis what i'm doing. I intend to activate our pass for our first shinkansen, that will also be active for our Osaka trips and the return trip to tokyo. Whilst in Tokyo and most of Kyoto I will be using either a PASMO or SUICA card for travelling. Our Osaka stations are all JR pass suitable. I couldnt justify a 14 day JR pass. I will only be getting a normal JR pass too as I dont think the green will give anthing extra other than a little more seat room.

We land in Narita and there is a JR office in Narita, I intend sorting all of our JR pass, Shinkansen bookings and PASMO/SUICA (children cards which need passport ID) all at once. Our portable wifi will also be delivered to the airport. Even though we get one for use in both our AirBNB, I will need wifi beforehand for our live translation apps (voiceTRA and Yomiwa)

Edited at 04:51 PM.

Thank you KK20 great advice!

I have flights and hotels sorted but I clearly need to do more research for trains etc .. I haven’t heard of some of the things you mentioned in your post ☺️
Thanks again! xx

For your single Disney day be sure to do the DisneySea park and not Disneyland. Its so much better.

I would do 1 day in each but if you are only doing 1 Disney day - definitely DisneySea
