Hilton Head Island

Can somebody recommend a nice place to stay in HHI. I know there is a Disney resort but it is more expensive than I want to pay.

We want to be near the beach, shops and restaurants

Thanks in advance

I’d recommend renting a house or condo on Homeaway etc, I recommend Palmetto Dunes it is wonderful. I will be staying DVC next time I go though.
Re the Disney hotel have you considered renting DVC points instead, for example off David’s? It will be much cheaper than a cash booking I imagine.

We stayed at the Sonesta resort as a last minute change of plans lead us to Hilton Head Island this summer. The resort was nice and clean and right on the beach with a good size pool. It wasn't 5 star, but would happily stay again. It was reasonably priced as well on hotels.com

We are hoping to go to HHI next year but until flights are booked we can’t book accommodation. I have got a few shortlisted and like Yorkshire T recommends they are all in Palmetto Dunes. They have condos from budget to luxury, near the beach or harbour. There are hundreds to choose from it’s taken me ages just shortlisting them.
We did look at around Seapines as OH wants to play their Harbour Town course but felt Palmetto has more to offer and he can just drive himself over as it’s not far

We stayed in a lovely ‘beach hut’ on night heron drive which we rented through an agency based on HHI. I can’t remember exactly what is was called but i think it had a turtle as their logo! It was a one bedroom place and had everything we needed. There was also a communal swimming pool. We also hired bikes for the week which we used to get around. It’s a beautiful place. Enjoy!

We stayed near there, in a house on Sandpiper Street, so further away from Coligny Plaza. It was great to be in walking distance from Coligny though, especially as it meant we could take advantage of the daiquiris at the Frosty Frog Cafe!

This ^^^
We will be here in just over a week.
Hotels are incredibly expensive there and as we only have one night an Airbnb or rental was no cheaper.
Will let you know what we thought !
