Just looking at BA for our flights for next year , we are going to NY for a couple days first so first leg of journey is LHar to JFK and for 2 adults one way October 2nd they are quoting £1582 economy per person ! Never seen flights this price ?
Just for comparison looked at LHR to MCO and that was £1366 pp ? This is also one way economy Panic is setting in !

BA/VS One way fares are normally based on fully flexible tickets that is why they look so high.

You are looking too soon, October flights are not fully released yet. Give it a month or two and then look again.

Don’t look at one way flights, they are in the most expensive fare class and it’s likely when your return dates come round it will be significantly cheaper. As an example when I was looking at going New York around about now, 4-5 months ago, flights were under £900 for 3 of us, 2a 1c, but the hotels made it cost prohibitive for me. (We are now going to Portugal, 1 week all inclusive for almost half the cost!)

One way flights are always ridiculous with virgin/BA etc. It’s the flexible fare.

Try Multi City & add a car, this should bring the price down, but they still vary dailyI looked one day, then again 2 days later & total cost was up over £1000
