Another 'returning guest' says hello

I'm also a 'returning guest' so a (re-)introduction is in order, prompted by the others I've seen here.

I used to post a lot on The DIS (was briefly a moderator on their DLP forum) from early 2000s perhaps late 1990s, and in the early days of The DIBB, when it was called something else IIRC? My login back then was rob@rar.org.uk

I've popped back to The DIBB from time to time to catch up with any news about WDW or DL when we've planned trips there, and spending more time here in these recent months as we should have been flying to Orlando today Hope to rearrange our trip to next summer, so will be looking for the great advice on The DIBB as always. Hoping that next year we won't have to practise social distancing on rollercoasters...

Welcome back to robrar.

Love the picture. That's an extreme form of social distancing. How did you swing that ?

It was a rope-drop ride. Taken on 31 July 2017 (it popped up on my Facebook memories, taken exactly three years before we were due to fly on our now Covid-abandoned 2020 Orlando holiday). Back then newly introduced rules meant you couldn't carry anything on The Hulk. My girlfriend was feeling a bit out of sorts and didn't want to ride it that morning, so she held all my stuff and while everyone else was dashing to the lockers to stow their belonging I headed in to the ride entrance as quickly as I could. I distinctly heard one of the dispatch team say "release the crash-test dummy" when I started to roll out of the load station, but I didn't realise I was the only one on it until I got off at the end of the ride. The photo is great but quite a lucky shot, unplanned and taken on Jane's iPhone.

It was quite a surprise to me when I got off and realised I was the only rider! Never to be repeated I suspect.
