I’m thinking even in Toronto in sept doesn’t happen, I’m sure by December people will be travelling again! 😬

Havnt been to Munich Markets (been to oktoberfest) but have been to Frankfurt. The are really good & not as cheesey as the german markets that seem to have sprung up in the uk over the last few years or so...

one thing to note they seem to close up pretty earlier between 20:00-21:00 in my experience , even earlier on Sunday (not much open in Germany on a Sunday anyway..)

so dont as we did nip for something to eat with the intention of going back for another look about 'later'...

One of my all time favourite cruises was german Christmas markets, to hamburg and bremen, loved it, and learnt quickly that the way to go round them is to start by buying a mug, having a gluhwein, then something to eat, then a browse of the beautiful gift stalls, then another drink etc etc. Repeat until you are merry and full!

We are doing the opposite. We have booked Salzburg but are going to Munich for a day. Munich is beautiful and you will love it. The trains are amazing. Spotless and punctual. If you do go to Salzburg I can recommend Cafe Tomaselli which is right in the centre of the town. It has the best cake ever. Fingers crossed we both get to go.
