Doesn’t look like brilliant news they are saying you have to stay home for 7 days and get another test after arrival?

And doesn’t say borders are open beyond what they are now- this just seems an additional requirement to what is there now?

It’s also being reported that you need a negative test regardless of whether you’ve been vaccinated or not. Not great.

I'm guessing this will be for travellers who can currently enter the US, ie: US residents/their spouse, green card holders. I don't see it applying to tourists just yet, although it may in the future.

Because the vaccine doesn’t stop you catching it, just stops you being ill.
It’s not the tests that will be really awkward - most airports will offer them, but holing up in a hotel for the first week won’t be great - although I could manage a villa if someone deliver some coffee and crispy cremes...

Exactly. So does this mean negative tests & quarantining will be a requirement from now on even though the vaccines have launched. I sincerely hope not 😏

Another nail in the coffin for anyone hoping things will reopen anytime soon.

Need to cancel or move my Feb 21 hol. Due to go August anyway and was thinking off moving Feb to Xmas 21. Not so confident now 😶

It isn't known for certain if that is the case yet. Scientists say we won't know for sure until enough people have had the vaccine and some time has passed.

Just because this is in now doesn’t mean it will be in August, or later.

Remember by Spring deaths and hospitalisations in UK and US will fall off a cliff.

This was always going to be the case. As I have said before the vaccine is only part of the cure, an accurate rapid test that is approved by governments will be the key to getting travel moving again in the short term.
