Travelling to USA with a drink driving ban.

Hi All, My son has a driving ban for drink driving.
Will this stop him from ever travelling to the US again?

If he was arrested then be may need a visa rather than esta but the embassy can advice you - still won’t stop entry more planning required

Why doesn't he just apply for an ESTA and see if it's approved?

You don’t need a visa for a drink drive

I travelled to California a few years ago with a friend (i was lead PAX) and his esta was refused - had to have a visa but I assume for the arrest and not the ban per se (unless he didn’t tell
me the full story !) - regardless personally I would always ask the Embassy for advise and not and not a holiday forum but I admit I am an ultra cautious person

If you ask the embassy they will always say to go for a visa
You don’t need to. An ESTA is ok

A single DUI conviction is not grounds to deny entry into the U.S; however, multiple DUI convictions or a DUI conviction in combination with other misdemeanor offenses can make a person inadmissible and require a waiver prior to entering the United States. just google "dui esta cbp" and you will find it
