Mobile Warning: VH no longer accept HoF gift cards!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but hope this helps people with their holiday booking and budgeting decisions.

I went into House of Fraser to use recognition rewards towards my Florida holiday. Gutted to learn that as of 17th June, VH payments can't go through HoF tills. So you can no longer pay with HoF gift cards or recognition rewards, and you can't collect recognition points with holiday payments.

The rep said they accept Virgin gift cards, but not for my booking as I already have the Flying Club discount.

My work discount website hasn't yet updated the T&Cs to exclude VH on the HoF gift card. Hope people don't get caught out by this.

Luckily, I'd already paid the bulk of my balance in early June when there was a flash sale for 20% discount (saving £1000), but was hoping to save another £400 on the remainder. That's a huge cut from our spending money 😭.

That's great it worked out for you. I might email my work discount company to see what they think about this. Although I'm too scared to top up my gift cards incase they won't put them through.

I forgot to say, they said they can't accept cash payments either due to not using the tills.
