Disability Scooter

My brother-in-law may be restricted with his mobility when we go in May due to an injury. He is talking about spending much of his time in the villa whilst we explore the parks but I'm sure there is a better solution.

Has anyone had experience of hiring mobility scooters from the major parks? We can't hire one for the duration due to very limited space in our 8 seater so it must be from the parks and on daily rates.
How much are we looking at per day and does this need prior booking or can we sort it on the day?

Many thanks.

Hello Shardriver I had to hire a elec scooter when we where there I OCT last year highly recommend you DONT hire from the parks day to day has they are about $55 a day I hired from K & M scooters it cost me $255 for 3 weeks and they brought it to the villa where we stayed and picked it up at the end and I had 4 wheel model that broke down into 5 pieces so didn't take up much room hope this helps.

Hiring from the parks can be expensive if you plan to do it every day. I think it costs $50 a day + $20 refundable deposit for a scooter although wheelchairs are considerably cheaper. Also remember that you can’t take the scooter/wheelchair out of the park. I had an 8 seater Ford Expedition on 2015 and the scooter that fatboytez is talking about went in behind the back seats no problem.

Hi - I hired a 4-wheel scooter - delivered to the villa and we easily got it into the back of the 8 seater MPV without putting any of the seats down - we also only removed the seat, battery and basket, folded the steering column down and then just lifted the whole thing in. As said above, hiring from the parks can be costly and getting to/from the car could be a problem. If you do hire one for the whole holiday, as you won't have the equivalent of a blue badge, if you tell them at the parking booth when you pay that you have a mobility scooter, they usually direct you to the medical overflow car park.
