Alamo gold upgrade

Looking at Alamo car hire through VH and VA. is it worth having the Alamo gold upgrade if you don't need 3 extra drivers? If I'm reading it right, in these circumstances, you're paying around £80-£90 just for the full tank of fuel alone.

Have been looking at the Brits Alamo site and this doesn't have the gold upgrade as an option but, if there is no real benefit to us having this, we may as well book through them.

Many thanks in advance.

It's a total waste of money if you don't want more than 2 drivers.

yeap as its been said complete waste of time, the lady at VH told me not to go for the gold one as its a waste of money the fully inclusive gives you 2 drivers which is normally enough and the tank of fuel works out a lot cheaper than upgrading i was told on another post that the current pre paid fuel with alamo is $1.33 gallon so average size fuel tank will be around $30 give or take

Martyn. I think you saw my post about gas prices - sorry a typo! It's $2.33 a gallon not $1.33.
Trouble with using the iPad not the PC!
