Train from Manchester Airport

This year we are 90% certain of using the train to and from Manchester Airport instead of driving, we are booked into Heald Green PI the night before so heading across and getting to the airport the next morning is straight forward regarding train times.

We will book advance takes as soon as they are released so need to work out what time train we should book after our flight we land at 0850 and there is a train at 0933, 1033 and 1133 I am thinking of booking the 1033, for people who have done this is how long do you usually leave after landing to getting your train.

We catch the TPExpress - usually allow at least an hour but as it's an airport station you're given up to 3 hours leeway. Revalidate tickets at the station if you're delayed☺

I would go with 11:33. Its a busy time , and we are often put in a hold before landing, often plus 20 minutes, then immigration etc Nothing worse than rushing after a holiday when you have the return blues!

I'd go for 10.33 and revalidate at the station if you miss it.

Another question if anyone knows, if our plane lands on time but immigration is busy and we don't get through in time for our train does this count for the 3 hour revalidate.

We had a BA flight delay sheet as we'd missed our connection at LHR but no one asked for any proof - just stamped the tickets☺

Good question and one I'd like to know the answer to.

Has anyone missed their train and authorised to get a later train, even if there was no flight delay?

We missed our train last summer but that was because our flight was delayed. From memory, the chap in the train station did check it was delayed.
