Do you tip Uber?

Have used Uber loads of times in the UK, and part of the appeal of it to me is because it's tied to my card i dont need to carry cash.
BUT
America being tip culture, how does this translate there, do you tip the driver few dollars cash as you get out, is it in the cost?

No, you don't generally tip, they really want the good ratings instead Some ask for it with boxes etc (this only happened once I think), in that case a dollar if I feel I have to, we had one guy ask for a 'big' tip as it was around the hurricane buildup, that was the most we tipped ($5).

Generally no, and we found last year that there was no expectation of a tip, and a lovely goodbye even when we didn't (around 90% of the time).

We did tip for 3 of our journeys...

$5 to the driver who we had a brilliant conversation with all the way back from Disney to I Drive (he also gave us bottled water and offered us Gum) 😀

$20 to the driver who picked us up at Florida Mall - we wouldn't have normally tipped this much, but didn't have anything smaller, and he'd offered us phone and IPad chargers, as well as lollies and had mentioned he'd only been in the US 6 months and was saving to bring his wife over 😀 (We will always have $5 bills on us in future)

$10 to Augusto, who took us on our final journey to the airport, and made what could have been a sad journey absolutely hilarious - he was a legend 😀

All three were well deserving of their tip, unlike the miserable driver of the Mears Cab we had to get back from Disney one night - having had a brilliant Uber experience throughout our holiday, having to pay more than double the fare, plus an expected 20% really didn't go down well 😡

I have once when I wanted him to stop off at a 7/11 😂 Paid him an extra $10 because I really wanted some snacks for the hotel room
