Carribean Cruise Stop Off Excursion booking
Hi.
We are travelling on the Carnival Victory on a 4 day Bahamas cruise in the summer, stopping at Freeport and Nassau in the Bahamas, as a family with 2 adults and 3 kids Having never been on a cruise before, we have 2 main questions: 1. Do you recommend pre booking your excursions before you go, or booking them on the boat when you get to the cruise 2. Is there any particular excursions you would recommend, either at these specific destinations, or any general excursions that you are aware of that you would highly recommend. Many thanks |

I would have a look at doing DIY excursions, it will save you a lot of money.
Look very carefully at the times of your docking and departure times and ensure any trip you book gets you back with lots of time to spare (we make it 2 hours). Use Trip Advisor to get a decent operator, but ignore the top 10% and bottom 10% of reviews!

You need to look at the iteinery on line to see what excursions they offer first.
Many places don't need excursions as you can either walk or get a taxi from the dock so a bit of investigating goes a long way. Nassau has the Atlantis to visit and you can either pay and go with the ships excursion or book your own tickets and get a taxi from dock. Most cruises have a cruise news that is put under your door daily explaining where your next port of call is, how far to the town etc and taxi services, some offer a lot more details, some don't.

Have a look at Cruisecritic for ideas. The ports of call section is full of ideas and the roll call section will have ideas/discussion by people on your cruise.
