Alamo Brits has gone back to 'normal' pricing for next August

Have just checked car hire prices again with Alamo Brits and it appears their outrageous pricing has disappeared, now back to 'normal'. Yesterday they wanted £1995 for a full size SUV for 21 nights 15/08-05/09 today it's £840. Much better! Just waiting for Discount Florida Car Hire to hopefully follow suit as this is who we've reserved our car through with zero deposit. I would book with Brits but don't have the money to pay outright yet as we've just paid for flights!

Aargh just checked Brits again and it's gone back up to £1979! Must have been a brief glitch!

You don't need to pay up front, if you see a good price book with pay on arrival. Free cancellation too so no risk, just cancel if you find cheaper elsewhere.

I have just looked Chevy Tahoe with Alamo on Auto Europe £2200
same vehicle with Alamo on Virgin Atlantic £980. I would book it and amend or cancel later.

7 seater showing £768 for me (I paid £268 this year!).

For full size SUV they're £100 more than I've reserved with Discount Florida Car Hire, so worth checking around still.

For the dates the OP gave a 21 day hire of a "full size SUV" DFCH is showing £1017 through Alamo. As you say its always worth looking around prices are always going up and down.

If using Alamo Brits clear your browsing history before every search.

Excited about Disney

We booked with Alamo Brits last weekend for next April/May and paid £339 for 15 days standard SUV hire. £40 less than what we paid for this September. I was pleasantly surprised as was fully expecting to pay more due to the exchange rate dropping even lower.

Keep checking and I'm sure it'll drop!

EDIT: I just checked again for our dates and it's actually £1 less now! Maybe it's your dates for some reason?
