So What Happened to Rivers of Light Opening in October?
Lots of rumours on here and other forums that it was going to happen, especially when the Jungle Book show was cancelled. I'm well aware that its still October but there have been no announcements and I just cant see it happening this month now. I got back on Saturday after my three week trip and it was so frustrating to see the viewing areas complete but nothing happening.

According to the official Disney World website, dining packages for the upcoming Rivers of Light will begin on May 1 2017.

That was a page from this year they accidentally put up again. They soon took it down when people noticed it.
There are some AP previews going ahead in early November. So I expect it to open shortly after that. |

Are they likely to do some soft openings for this? We're there until the 14th Nov and obviously it would be great to see it.

speculations are about soft opening in 2 weeks and formal opening on 20th of November but I will believe it when I see it!

They might just email AP holders to get numbers that way. Could even happen for DVC members.
