Downgrade an Escalade?
hi all
hoping someone can advise or let me know they have done this before... previous 2 trips we have had Suburban and Yukon XL which were perfect for us (me, missus, 3kids). Our youngest has disabilities so we take a wheelchair and 2 large medical cases as wells as suitcases etc. as rental prices this year have been a bit strange to say the least, when I found a deal on Alamo for Escalade/Navigator class I jumped on it! (was and still is cheaper than Yukon XL :o ) but, it has recently occurred to me that the standard Escalade/Navigator isn't as big as the 'Burban/Yukon XL and unless its a Escalade/Navigator XL, then we may be a bit tight on space. so...my thinking is this. if it ends up being just a standard Escalade/Navigator and not an XL, can I ask for a downgrade to a 'Burban/Yukon XL ? and will they charge extra to do it? or do I just ask for a Escalade/Navigator XL? thanks in advance folks #firstworldproblems :| |

I was in slightly different circumstances a couple of trips ago and ended up downgrading. They did not reimburse me for the difference but didn't charge me for the change either.

I agree, I think they'll be quite happy to give you the Burb or Yukon XL instead of the Escalade - I've rarely seen the longer version Escalades in stock but you might be able to get a Lincoln Navigator which are as luxurious as the 'Slade but seem to be only available in the extra length version at the moment. (Brand new model coming late in 2017)
I loved the warble of the General's V8s but the 3.5 Turbo EcoBoost Engine fitted to the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition is very very quick - especially joining faster moving traffic in another Lane or joining the highway from a ramp. Edited at 05:43 PM. |
