Underestimating the Wave Pool at Typhoon Lagoon
Any other dibbers underestimated the wave pool at TL?
My DD persuaded me to take her on our recent trip as I've never fancied going. Now my DD is 22 however there was no doubt in my mind that it would be Dad not Mam that was dragged reluctantly on all of the attractions. As soon as we arrive she spots the wave pool and she is off. 'Come on Dad' she shouts excitedly. I watch a couple of the waves warily and wade into the water up to my waist. They don't look bad there so I will be fine. First one comes and knocks me clean over onto my backside and I'm left spluttering and coughing in its wake. The floor of that pool is like sand paper as well! I did venture further out eventually when I had figured out how to 'defend myself'. Oh and by the way - I had an absolute blast despite my misgivings about going.

The best fun at TL is watching newbies who don't know what's coming.

Adam. We no longer go as my Wife has arthritis in her knees and cannot do the climb up to the slides. It was good fun though.
However we both got trashed in the shallow bit of the pool maybe 18 years ago. My Wife still has an abrasion scar on her shoulder that has never faded. I was lucky as I just ended up on my ≈≈≈≈!

Yes strangely the deep area is safer than the shallows. I have had a few grazed knees to prove it.

Haha yes! Last time we went, Neil decided it would be a good idea to persuade OB to go into the wave pool backwards. He ended up with a grazed ≈≈≈≈ and knee!

Yes, I still sport the scar on my knee where I landed on the sandpaper (sorry, floor) in 2002!
