Do you know how to get into the event logs? It's the system event log I am interested.

Do you also know how to get ino device manager?

Can you tell us what the model number is (apologise if you have done this already)

Thanks its a HP pavilion laptop,yes I can access events log and device manger.

Someone earlier suggested updating the wifi driver - which is a good call. The other option is deleting the wifi network adapter and then doing a rescan to recreate it.

OK, I have done a rescan of the wireless settings on the router and its connected fine even after a restart.
I did do this yesterday but I am not sure if I saved it after the rescan?
OH well see what tomorrow brings!

get a big hammer and show it to the laptop and say to it - this is what you will get if you don't behave... john cleese style...

you could try changing the channel number of the router - you could be getting interference from something like a cordless phone... but I suspect like mine it will be hammer time soon...
