Best airboat in Kissimmee area?

Hi everyone

We are back in Florida at the end of May and this year we are determined to do an airboat ride.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to which is the best in the area and do we need to book in advance?

Thanks

Kissimmee Swamp Tours who are a bit further out on Lake Kissimmee (not Lake Toho), so you see the wildlife in unspoilt natural surroundings. You don't see buildings, other boats. They use smaller 6 seater boats, so more personal. Friendly knowledgable captain, with headsets. Go for the longer 90min tour rather than 60min, as you won't want to get off. Book in advance, but pay afterwards - see their web site. They even phone you whilst you are on your way to check you don't need directions. Went twice last year - both times (May/October) they took us to where they knew there were baby gators only a foot long. It is not just a boat ride - it is an experience of the wildlife/environment too.
Second choice: Spirit of the Swamp.

Hi,
a group of us went to "Wild Florida" in 2016 (kids aged from babies - 15 yr olds),
it was fantastic, we did the 60 min boat ride which was amazing, saw loads of alligators, eagles, buzzards. They offer a 30 minute ride too, but I'd recommend the longer trip.

Boats are very noisy but everybody is given ear defenders and it didn't bother the young kids. They also have a great mini-zoo there, (included in boat ride price) which was a great added bonus.

For me it was my favourite day-out on my holiday, and great to be away from the main drag for a day. I'd definitely recommend it.

We prefer Spirit of the Swamp - much smaller boats (only seat 6), personal service and if there are 4 - 6 of you you get your own boat. We've been with Boggy Creek a few times and enjoyed it, but SoS is better.

Just beware they aren't open on Sundays and are a fair drive away. If you use a sat nav it will probably send you via the Florida Turnpike and a Prepaid Toll only exit. If you don't want to activate Sunpass on your hire car make sure you choose the toll free route via 192.
