Sorry for having an opinion!

Likewise I have driven all of the sizes across the west coast and have just posted what we found most relaxing and comfortable for us. Makes it no more of less right than yours.

We have had the Ford Escape before and that just fits 4 medium bags/cases with good packing but little room for anything else. Last time we were given a Ford C-Max (which is the same hire class) but due to boot shape it could only fit 3. Fortunately when we mentioned this we were given a free upgrad to a Ford Explorer.

We had am Int SUV for five of us and five cases. me and DH and three teenagers but all three 5'7'' or taller.
It was a struggle getting everything in but once we had got to the condo and unloaded we were fine for the rest of the three weeks. Would have needed something bigger if t was a road trip with the bags in the boot all the time.

To be safe and know for sure that your hire vehicle will accommodate you, your baggage and your passengers in comfort, I would personally book a group ‘S’ SUV. These invariably have three rows of seats, meaning you can flatten the rearmost seats and know for certain that you will have acres of space for your baggage.

Last time we were in Florida We had a Chevrolet Traverse and loved it. Four occupants, and our four large cases and backpacks, slabs of water etc. were swallowed with ease.
