If you are in a hotel (Disney or other) I would cash them before I left for the park so that you don't have to wait in line at guest services before you can buy a coffee...

Although I'm pretty sure the coffee shop would accept the TC anyway

If you're onsite you don't need to cash them at all, just charge it with your magic band. Much quicker and easier.

I have never paid a premium for TC's, always got the same rate as cash.
