Are you staying at a villa? You could maybe take a loaf or two and stick it in the freezer if the kids are really fussy.

We usually grab the bagels as an alternative to bread when we're over.

Yes staying in a villa. I thinking branching out to the bakery bread might be an advantage to get my youngest to try alternatives, might benefit us when we are back home. Thanks again to all.
Didn't realise my count down was wrong, too focused on work, must be feeling 🤒

I also vote for Land O lakes as an alternate and the italian bread is lovely as well.

They have some nice bread. As above the Cuban are a bit like French sticks. I like these Italian Hogie Rolls they sell everywhere. I like Bimbo for toast.
I'm not a great fan of Lurpack, I prefer Anchor (Mrs YT insists on buying Lurpack a lot as it's 'on offer' grrr). I quite like 'Country Crock' I think it's called butter in US. |

Just for the record, Country Crock is not butter-it is margarine. There are lots of good butters (usually not the cheapest). My boys both prefer Kerrygold butter and I buy a local butter. Land o lakes is very common and I don't know any grocery that doesn't carry it.
There are a lot of good breads available, just usually not on the bread aisle and seldom available for $1.00 a loaf. I love the bakery at whole foods and they will slice it if you want. Many places bake their own Italian bread and baguette. I hope part of the excitement of traveling to another country is trying their foods so while you may bot get the same brands, you should find something you like. |
