No it's not stupid but I don't believe you can anymore. We did it back in 2007 when we didn't really know much about Disney dining and had it free for the first time but that was back when they swapped QS credits for snacks. They don't do that now either.

I've just booked today via Charter and they says they just alter the dob for Disney but obviously have the true dob on their details. It cost us 40£ more to upgrade the park tickets to adult in order to qualify.

Are there any exclusions to what you can have on DDP for example;
TS - can you have anything from the menu (apart from sharing items)

QS - can you have any main, desert and drink (if they sell slush's or floats are they classed as a desert or drink? and are they included ?)

SC - all places have different sizes of drinks (example Starbucks caramel frappe with cream), different scoops of ice cream, all kinds of ice cream novelty bars, turkey legs, caramel apples, popcorn etc etc - is everything a snack or only certain sizes and items? How do you know what is classed as a snack or not?

Thank you

I've not come across any exclusions at TS restaurants we've tried and have often had the most expensive thing on the menu. You don't get given special or reduce menus either. If there are any exclusions, then your server will tell you. At some places you can have milkshakes as your drink and/or dessert. We had milkshakes for drink and dessert and the Sci-Fi Dine In and for dessert at Planet Hollywood.

For QS, you can have any main but drinks and desserts can be limited at some places. For example, you can't have any dessert at Earl of Sandwich, but they tell you what you can choose from. Normally, if it's got a snack credit symbol by it you can have it. Not 100% sure about slushes and floats as never had them with a QS meal, but am sure someone who knows will be able to tell you.

Snacks - there's a huge range of snacks available. Turkey legs aren't a snack (nor fit for human consumption imo ) Here's a link to the snack credit list:
http://DIBB.in/10448359

The easiest way to tell is to look for this symbol next to the item - if you see it then it's a snack:

Starbucks on Main Street will let you have any size you want for a snack credit (or at least they did in November)

As said the restrictions tend to be on sharing items only. We had the surf n turf at Narcoossee's which is $71. Mind you it's a 2 credit restaurant.
As for floats and slushes at QS, I can't think of anywhere that does them. For any that do you might get them as a dessert though rather than a drink. We got frozen lemonade from Yak & Yeti although that was really an ice cream. For TS places you can usually get a milkshake or something but they tend not to be free refills like the soda's.

Thanks I didn't realise there was a symbol so that's great!

Love this thread! You are all so helpful

Another mama Melrose question my middle 2 children will have adult tickets so adult DDP and I see that it is a desert platter at mana Melrose but will we only get one between all of us? (We all have a very sweet tooth so that won't be enough or is it one between 2)
Thanks again

Yes, you get a sharing platter for dessert - 1 for all 4 of you, but think ours had 4 portions on it. They're okay - but nothing to write home about. Having said that I think that desserts at Disney are pretty weak anyway. We normally wait until we're peckish after dinner and get something yummy with a snack credit

Can I ask a wee question?
We have booked value resort with free breakfast, but I read another comment saying you can just buy breakfast and use your free credit for lunch. Is this right? And if so is it restricted to resort or can you use it at parks? We've never used any dining plans before so it's all a bit new to us!

Yes, you can use the credit for lunch or dinner in any of the qs restaurants at the parks, resorts and DTD
