Arrow Kids Free October in San Diego

Hi everyone! Just a heads up notice to any of you that may be heading to San Diego this month with young children. The entire month of October is Kids Free month in San Diego. Kids get in free to many of the attractions in town including the Zoo, Safari Park and Sea World...and there are also special deals going on for youngsters at many hotels and restaurants, too. There are too many deals for me to mention, so be sure to check out the full list here: sandiego/promotions/kids-free.aspx

This event happens every October, so if you aren't coming out this month but are planning a trip to San Diego in the future...and have young children...October is a great month to visit for families!

Just out of interest, what is the temperature like in October? Is it warm enough to enjoy a day at the beach or is it more hit and miss?

Days in October usually run mild to warm (70’s to low 80’s), the evenings are cool. You could still be comfortable on the beach most of the month, but the water will be chilly.

No, not very tropical here. We do get a few cool days in Oct, but it’s mild to warm most of the month. The early part of October is usually warmer than it is towards the end of the month, because the September heat hangs in for awhile. We are actually about to have a week of 80’s coming up.

We were there in October a few years ago when there was a mini heatwave. Everyone kept saying how we had hit it at a bad time as it was so hot, we were like, nooo it’s amazing! 😄 It did cool down the day we were leaving and was noticeably chillier but the previous week had been fantastic weather.

Sounds like a typical October here! It is a fickle month sometimes with the weather- can't decide if it's still summer or should be fall.

It was probably the best holiday we have ever had Aims. I remember you giving me advice on hotels and recommending the Marriott Marquis. It couldn't have been more perfect for us. San Diego holds a special place in our hearts. We are planning to return for our 50th birthdays in a couple years. I cannot wait.

Aww that sounds like a wonderful plan I’m glad you loved the Marquis! I stay there often whenever I’m in the city for a weekend. You can’t beat the location or views!
