A little advice please
Hi there. I’ve never been on a cruise but I’m 50 next year and this is one of my wishes.
My thoughts are perhaps a 7-10 day WDW holiday with a Disney Cruise tagged on at the end. As this would probably only be for 3/4 days I was wondering if it’s worth it? Is it an amazing experience or should I consider having a longer cruise elsewhere? My wife and my son (9) would be coming along but that provides other issues. My son uses a wheelchair and can have quite complex medical needs as he has a rare autoimmune disease. Do you think a Disney Cruise is the thing to do here, will he be blown away by it? Is there still plenty for him to do and will he still experience the magic that WDW world offers him. Finally, although he keeps relatively well... how are Disney Cruises when it comes to folk with medical issues? Sorry for babbling on and thanks in advance. |

I think this is a great idea! I'm a big cruiser (though haven't tried DCL) and I always recommend starting with a slightly shorter cruise to give you a taste of it. Some people just don't like being at sea, so booking a 7-, 10-, or 14-night cruise when you don't know how you'll like it isn't a good idea in my opinion.
All cruise lines cater for disabilities very well, and DCL is no exception. You will have no problems whatsoever. The only exception is with tender ports, as these can be a little tricker in wheelchairs. |

Hi
We added on a disney cruise to our orlando holiday although we done it at the beginning, we done a 3 night/4 day cruise on Disney Dream this duration was just perfect for a taster, my daughter has some medical issues and I was worried incase she wasn't well but just made sure we had good insurance in place should she have needed returned to land, but they had medical staff on board. She has some mobility issues but currently doesn't use a wheelchair but we found getting around very good there were ramps provided at the ports and also at castaway cay they had the beach wheelchairs and pushchairs available free of charge. We loved the cruise and there is lots of disney magic on board, my son cried on our last morning as he didn't want to leave. I wouldn't hesitate to go again. We also booked with an american travel agent and got room credit and free gifts in the room, a beautiful disney cruise bathrobe, champagne and chocolates.

I think it’s worth exploring more. My boy is Disney Daft but I’m looking to something special next year.
