Mobile Paying the balance of DVC contract

Hi

I've paid a deposit on a DVC contract and am currently playing the squeaky bum time 30 day waiting game (again).

Just wondering what is the most economical way of paying the remaining balance.

For example I have a Halifax Clarity credit card which follows the exchange rate and is an excellent way of purchasing overseas.

Is there a debit/virtual card I can load cash onto to pay the balance?

Like others, I've never made a large overseas purchase before so I'm rather ignorant to the whole process.

Thanks

I have used XE.com for paying my DVC purchases. It’s really easy to use and you get a good exchange rate. The companies I have purchased DVC through would only allow a credit card for the deposit and not the remainder of the balance but I’m not sure if that’s the case with all.

OP. With DVC I paid the whole lot over the phone with a Credit Card.

The resale contract they only allowed the deposit to be paid via a C.C. The remainder had to be paid by Bank Transfer so I used Travelex albeit I think they have changed their trading name recently.
Got a better rate than the C.C. as well so I was happy.

I used HiFX based on service reports and the fact it's regulated. I didn't want a Crown Currency Exchange situation, however slight the risk, so did a bit of due diligence and paid ever so slightly more to use them as another had a tiny bit better rate.
They were outstanding though.

Could you not use Monzo - its a current account now (regulated by the financial authority) and gives you the Mastercard exchange rate?

Can I pay in cash in person? I’m hoping to be able to pay off our balance while we’re out there

Sorry for hijacking the thread. I always use fairfx for transfers and payments

We did this a number of years ago. Went to SSR with some dollars to pay off our overall balance. It took quite a long time as were not set up to take cash payments.
