Room request Kidani

I have rented points through David's to stay in a standard studio in Kidani this summer. Can I contact the hotel beforehand to request an area or would this need to be done by the person who I rented the points from (obviously this would be impractical I realise). And if I can request an area, any suggestions? We would be chuffed to have a partial Savannah view but I do realise we have only paid for standard so not really expecting anything more. Just chuffed really to be staying at AKL ☺️

Hey there I've also used David's to book a room at Kidani for my parents this October...I just emailed David's via the confirmation email to specify room location requirements (due to my mum using a wheelchair) and the advisor in turn messaged the dvc owners I was booking through for them to get in touch with the hotel with my request ...it is simply a request though so no guarantees so I was also advised to mention it at check in.
Sorry no clue about room location as I've only ever stayed at Jambo house, however I was advised that the lower rooms have better Savannah views...not sure about the standard view though

For partial Savannah chance at Kidani request 'near Pumba elevator'. That's what I've requested. Further to lobby, but that doesn't bother me.

Thank you both for your replies - might give that a try then via David's.

YorkshireT - can I ask how you requested this?

Has to be done via the owner. If you ask David's, they will ask the owner. The owner if he/ she can be bothered, will then call, email or live chat member services and put the request in.
Please note though, a lot of requests go ignored by the room allocators.

I always choose a room location and make room requests through Touring Plans. You have to pay the annual fee for the subscription, if you don't have the book, but I find it well worth it. It's a great resource.

I was thinking about doing this - but thought it might be a waste of time if the request has to be done by the dvc owner?

To request through DVC the request has to be done by the owner. the way Touring Plans does it is that they send a fax on your behalf to the resort 3 days prior to your arrival. They can do this using the reservation number, it won't affect the DVC rental - as long as you don't request anything which is not the category you have booked.

I am a DVC member but never make my request through Member Services, always use touring Plans. And have been very lucky with getting our requests (don't always get them but 9 out of 10 times we have)
