Thank you, last time I rang up and they asked us to keep a diary for a couple of weeks and they made us an appointment for after that, but it was a few years back as our daughter got a five year award. My main worry is she isnt really seen by anyone now she has a diagnosis so we havnt got much documentation apart from a few bits and pieces , in our authority once you are diagnosed you are pretty much in your own , that said we didn't have much last time either and were awarded it within a couple of weeks of applying .
I'll keep people informed with how things go x |

We have diagnosis reports, a few consultant letters but not many as she is petrified of doctors and will only go as a last resort... she has a diagnosis of white coat hypertension. as well as her autism, anxiety, hypermobility etc. Last time we sent IEPs? and a letter from school head so I'm going to see if the inclusion team at school will give me copies of her current ones and write another testimony to help. No meds x
I think or I hope I'm overthinking things , but my mood has come down with a bump today since documents arrived, I was recently diagnosed with depression and anxiety myself and I'm fretting about doing this , will see how we get on and hopefully it will have a good outcome again Edited at 06:03 PM. |

We get a lot of claimants who have long term diagnosed health problems, which often means they have established medication prescribed so they rarely visit doctors or hospitals. It doesn't really matter how often they need to see a doctor, it's more about how much daily care is needed and how much the claimant can do or can't do on a regular basis.
A diary is a really good idea as you probably don't realise how much help you actually give your daughter as you do it routinely. But by writing it down, hopefully, you notice more and don't miss anything out. There is a useful guide halfway down this link that may help with showing what information is needed for child DLA, but I'm sure the CAB advisor will guide you. Good luck, I totally understand how nervous the forms make people but try not to over-think it and have help with CAB and I'm sure you will be fine. 😊 citizensadvice.uk/be...with-dla-form/ Edited at 06:43 PM. |

I’m sure current plans from school will help.
I can understand your anxiety as I felt the same. I found though, once I started filling the forms in they weren’t as bad. I’ve had to fill in new PIP and ESA forms within the last eighteen months. Did you keep a photocopy of the previous DLA forms you filled in? I find that helpful, along with writing notes for each question before starting the form itself. Doing a few questions at a time helped as well. I’m sure you will be fine. |

I just wondered if anyone had a response yet, I sent my sons renewal 6 weeks ago and now I'm worried that I haven't heard anything? It's so stressful!

6 weeks seems to be the usual wait but I have known it take 8-12 weeks. It is so frustrating how long they take, as obviously it is stressful waiting. I would suggest give them a week to 10 days more, then ring to ask if they know how much longer you will be waiting. Hope you hear soon xx

my local cab wouldn't help as they said it wasn't worth applying as I needed more proof of ds needs
I filled in the form as best I could and sent it anyway so will just have to wait see what they say. Worse case senario they say no but its not like I'll be any worse off. |
