Universal disabled pass system
Hi I haven't been to florida since 2011 & I was in a wheelchair then. I have cystic fibrosis & had a double lung transplant in 2013. Finally going back but may not take my chair this time. Last time Universal were nothing like disney for their disabled pass system, however I believe that has all changed at disney too. Are Universal any better with disabled peeps now.
My reason for needing pass now would be that I would not be able to stand for long periods in the sun queuing, as my rejection tablets cause skin cancer if exposed to too much sunlight. I will of course have factor 50 on & a hat etc. I know it will be ok at disney & I have a letter from my cf team, but not sure what universal will need. I'm coming here for your help from peeps who have experienced the system. Thanks in advance. :-) |

Your letter is a complete waste of time, they will refuse to look at it,as for universal there system is not as good as Disney s just go to guest relations and tell them your problem and go from there, good luck, bondy.

Bondy is right they dont ask for proof you just need to go to Guests services and explain the issue.

They do not ask for a letter because it is illegal for them to do so.

I never had a problem with Universal's pass system, having someone with disabilities in my party should not entitle me to skip the queues.
It is a great tool to avoid lengthy queuing but it doesn't beat having an express pass.

I disagree, I teach and have seen parents of children with Autism struggle to organise family holidays because the child finds the planes, hotels, changes so difficult. If Universal /Disney can make one aspect easier for parents then I think that's great.
They don't get to skip the queue, they get to come back at the time they would have been at the front of the queue. Things I take for granted become so difficult. I had one mother beg to borrow the earphones from school because her child will only wear teacher's earphones and his sister had a show the whole family want to go to. These families often need the holidays to recharge their engines more than I do. |

You don’t skip the queue. You get a return time so it’s like virtual queuing as such.
