Do Disney ignore requests if booked 3rd party?

Booked a package with TC in 2015 to POR-All (prior) requests denied at check in. DIY direct with Disney in 2017 at OKW-All requests met and exceeded.

Do Disney favour guests who book direct or is it just luck and I am being paranoid?

We booked with Thomas Cook when we stayed at AKL and our requests for bunk beds was met. We also got a Savannah view.

I think you're being a bit paranoid . Requests are just that - requests, nothing guaranteed.

Hi Lesley

Who did you submit your request to - Thomas Cook or direct to Disney? We've booked a standard non-view room at AKL and would obviously be chuffed to get a savannah view without having to pay the extra money

I've seen a thread where people suggest to ask for a room overlooking the Kudu Trail but that sounds to me like I'd be asking for a savannah view room - it feels a bit too cheeky (though I haven't ruled it out ) and I guess there's a possibility we could be charged for the upgrade we've effectively requested?

Thanks

I contacted Disney about 3 days before our trip and on check in got the request plus the bonus view.

The kudu trail is one of the boxes standard view people can tick when they do online check in, the same as you would request high floor/low floor, near lobby, transport etc

Ah okay, I've started the online check in procedure but never finished it and I can't remember why not now. I don't remember seeing this option but I may not have gotten that far. Thanks very much for the tip.

Because of how Disney reclassified the rooms at AKL, you can get what they term a partial savannah view for standard room price. Touring Plans have examples of room views and we used them to request our room last trip and it worked - and we didn't book with Disney!
