Really annoyed..should I have ignored it
My DH and I are staying in a really lovely country hotel for the weekend, went for dinner and an older very posh couple in the dining room were commenting unkindly about others, after talking with one couple through the meal the wife loudly commented that the wife of the couple they were talking to would be dead soon as she was so fat.
At coffee in the lounge they started talking about my husband and I saying must be his daughter or we were there having an affair ( the light must be bad as there is only 8 years between us and we have been married for ever! ) I stopped at their table on the way out and said he was my husband and they should think about how loudly they were talking about people I am so annoyed but also think perhaps I should have left it?! Breakfast may be interesting! 😊

personally i think you left them off lightly!
why do people think behaving like this is ok? even f you were the daughter or mistress who's business is it anyway (i know you are not - but what does it matter to anyone else?) wish people would stop being so opinionated and worry about their own lives... update us when you get back from breakfast tho |

Fantastic, wish I had been there to see that. I think you did the right thing, they shouldn't have been speaking so loud for everyone to hear.

Wow! How rude!
I can't believe people think it's ok to behave like that. I'll be honest, I suspect OH may have been less diplomatic and told her she was a *insert favourite swear word* He's very mild mannered but can't stand people like that! Edited at 06:56 AM. |
