Just upgraded to Disney AP

I know a few people ask about this often, I did myself quite a bit recently so thought I'd let everyone know my experience in case you're thinking of doing it soon.
I upgraded my 14 day ultimate at Magic Kingdom in City Hall on my first day in the parks for $390, no trouble at all and was extremely quick process. Not affected my 11 days of FP+ bookings or Dining credits either

You have to wait and order them via your MDE, had mine sent to my resort

I got the platinum, neither as I got it when free dining was first released and payed £320

Thanks for posting. Always interested to hear people's experience of this. That still seems quite expensive- almost as well just to buy another ultimate here unless you are going more than twice in one year. Suppose you get the free parking etc though too

We upgraded just one Ultimate last year, purely to get the free parking (and a few discounts). Originally we worked out that if we went 3 years in a row, the original AP cost, plus two renewal costs meant we'd be in profit.

However, this Easter we're all having APs because the 13 month for 12 offer means we can use them again next Easter. It has worked out expensive though, because we've booked an extra visit for Christmas too!

It was a price I was happy with as people had been quoted around the $420-450 mark more recently rather than last years great prices, not to mention the AP price increase. I always stay onsite so get free park anyway but I had another free dining trip booked with the ticket costing £360 so taking into consideration the discounts I'll get, possibly a 3rd trip this way has worked out cheaper for me

I upgraded DS's 14 day ultimate to a Gold AP at Disney Springs last week and was charged $78.
Unfortunately I think it still very much depends who does it. I was expecting to pay about $180 based on recent reports.
I paid £279 for DS's original ticket.

$78 to upgrade to gold is crazy cheap, what was the name of the cast member?

We have a 14 day ticket which we plan to use for November but we also go in 16 days time to visit universal. If we take the 14 day tickets in March and try to get some prices to upgrade at Disney springs (hoping for a cheap upgrade price by keep trying), Would enquiring for a price activate the 14 day ticket. As if it is too much we would wait and keep the tickets until November.
